"...I've got my arms that flip flop flip flop flip..."

I found the *neatest* site the other day.  Twinkie Chan has some of the most creative and inspiring crochet projects I've ever seen.  Definatly check her out.

I've downloaded a ton of brushes for Paint Shop Pro so I've made a couple wallpapers; they are variations of one wallpaper.  Cuz  I can't just make ONE wallpaper- I'll work on it until I like it, then I'll save that draft, then I'll go back and edit and change it to see if I can get it better, and I do this until I and up with 5 or 6 variations of that first draft.  While looking for pictures from the Nine Inch Nails concert we went to, I found a concert pic of NIN and David Bowie performing together (*^^* mmmm) so I used that pic instead.  If you want to see that they are on my myspace blog.  For some reason the last link isn't working tho.

So on the knitting front- I'm almost done with my sister's bday present I just need to sew it up (which will be done by this morning) and add the finishing touches (my goal is to finish this tonight).  I'd like to get a little bit of work done on the Ruffled Bra Top today; I think I'm going to stop by my LYS to get a bit of help cuz I'm stuck.  I'm still debating on whether or not to frog the Neo Climb project that my cat peed a little on.  I'm two rows short on yarn and I haven't been able to find more of it at any stores around here.

I saw the new X-Men movie the other day.  It was good... it didn't follow pretty much any of the comic plot line... and the thing that got me was there pretty much wasn't a specific villan in the entire movie.  Yeah, Magneto wasn't a good guy, Pheonix wasn't a good gal, and the cure stirred the pot, but there wasn't enough emphasis on a villan for my taste.  Other than that it was alright.  Like my DF says, go in with low expectations and you'll enjoy it more.  Oh yeah!  And the little 15 second surprise clip at the end of the move was neat.Time for a shower!  Ttyl!*waves*Foxy

P R O J E C T S (and amazing/massive fun!)

First off I must say:  YES THREE DAYS UNTIL THE NINE INCH NAILS CONCERT!  I CAN'T WAIT! WOOOOT!  Ok, that's my outburst.  Here's what I'm looking forward to:

Yes, it is going to be freaking amazing.  We've got tickets in the seating section and NOT the mosh pit.  <- I would die.  Hehe.  I am SO excited!!!

Alrighty, as far as projects go, the Shaped Tank is done, all I need to do it block it because it's too short.  Lol- even tho I added four extra rows, it's still too short.  I have a longer than average torso, so I'm sure that has something to do with it as well.  ^-^  I started the Ruffled Bra Top from the new Knit.1.  Here's what the yarn looks like:

Pretty huh?  I bought it so stitch into tee-shirts, but never got around to it.  I just got a cute pale peach tank that will go well with this.  I can't wait to finish it.

Another fun project I'm starting is for the Knit A River project.  Check it out, it's really neat.  The idea is to creat a 'river' of blue knitted squares to help WaterAid bring clean water and sanitation to people across the world.

My cat peed on some of my yarn stuff and hit the Neo Climb project, so I'm not sure when I'll finished that.  (Grr my cat and her strange peeing ways!!!)  The sad thing is, my LYS stopped carrying this yarn and I grabbed the last two balls of it.  *cries*  I'm using Lion Brand Watercolors in Bright Clouds.  I lookes like confetti frosting.

The Bridesmaids project itself is actually completed and has been completed since I put it on the sidebar, but I want to give them MORE than just this tiny silly thing.  I want to give them a gift back that says, "I love you so much!  Please be my bridesmaids!  We're going to have so much fun planning this wedding and spending time together doing all sorts of great things!!"  I've just been adding completion into the bar because I can't think of anything else to add, so when the bar finally gets to 100 I'll give them the gift whether that's the only thing or not.  If anyone has any cool ideas for what to do for my bridesmaids please let me know.  I'd really appreciate it.

We went to Seattle last weekend with DF and his parents.  Here's a picture of us sporting our Pink Godzilla love.

When you go there and you're wearing their merch, they give you 10% or 15% (I forget) off your purchase.  I have a pair of boy shorts too with the little pink godzilla on the rigth cheek.  Hehe.  This is where we get all out cool import games and such.  This is the type of store that DF and I want to own someday.  It's so neat.  This store is probably 15x20 feet and jammed pack with the neatest stuff!  I *heart* Pink Godzilla!

That's all for today I believe.  Have a great one everybody!!

Quick entry - more later

Here's a pic that DF took of me last night modeling the Stripped Tank:

That's a MUCH better picture than the one in the last entry.  ><

I'm started the Shaped Tank in the new Knit.1, and I'd like to make a mod-ed version of it afterwards maybe.

I need to start focusing a little bit more on wedding plans tho- I haven't done ANYTHING for it since my last big post about it.  *not good!*  I hate stupid flowers tho.  My mom and soon to be mom in law are both like "You can't do tulips- blah" "They won't last thru the day- blah."  "We'd have to import them from Holland- blah" (<- there are actually plenty of places in the US to get tulips so says all my Wedding Mags (who btw all say tuplis are great flowers YEAR ROUND).  Grrr...  I don't want every single flower in the wedding to be tulips, but I would like some.

Anyways, got to run!

Picture fun time!

After a long delay (I lost the computer cord to my camera), here are the pics of my finished projects.

First off- my stipped tank from Knit.1 magazine.

I made this "small" but it's still too wide for me, (I kinda tucked it around the back a bit  because it's like 4inches too wide! lol).  I like the colors and all, and DF loves it.  Maybe I'll use it as a bathing suit cover.

Next up is Bacteria Buddy for DF:

This was my first bacteria buddy.  He's laying on our Yoshitaka Amano book that we are using art from for our wedding.  DF loves this little guy!

I actually didn't take any pictures of the Bacteria Buddies I made for my TH friend.  He was leaving for Georgia the next day and I just totally spaced pictures.  >.>

Bacteria Buddy for neighboor:

Sunbathing on a tv tray- nice.

Here is Sandy's surprise present- pattern by me:

This was the first time that I had used purse handles before.  I think it turned out really nice.  Sandy really like it so that makes me happy.  *^^*

I've already posted pics of the crocheted purse, but I'll post another one just for fun.

I'm happy with it- it's different.

I'm thinking about adding a "finished project" section to my sidebar.  Hmm... I'll start that right now.  Maybe I'll post again later today!

Bye!  *waves*

Happy May Day everyone! Full of fun links today!

If I was paying attention, I would have knit little flowers for everyone I know.  Oh well.  I'll just wish them all a Happy May Day instead.  ^^

So I don't know about you guys, but I had a busy weekend.  I forget what I did Friday night, probably played FFXI, and hung our with our friend who was in town on leave from the Army.  Saturday, we got up kinda early so we could get to the DMV so I could get my lisence renewed.  I honestly figured it would take 2-3 hours because I was told that Saturday is the busiest day there.  We weren't there a full 20 mins- there was hardly anyone there.  I took a number and before I got a chance to sit down, they called it, I filled out a slip, gave them $25, and then went and to get my picture taken.  (This was the exciting part because when I first got my lisence 5 years ago, I was wearing messy pigtails in my hair for PJ day at school...)  They took my pic and handed me my temp id, and I almost jumped for joy to have such a great picture on my id.  Seriously people, it is not fun going to a restaurant and trying to get a drink when I had the server my id with me and pig tails...  Now I can show off my id proudly.  Hehe.

Anyways, yesterday DF, our friend from the Army, and I drove up to Seattle to go to Pink Godzilla to buy games, and to Kinokuniya's for music/books/toys, and Ho Ho Seafood Restaurant for food.  I got this cool Japanese Nintendo DS game called Cooking Mama, which is AMAZING.  And I got a little whale charm to put on my DS.  DF got Eyeshield 21 for the DS.  OH we also got Brain Age on Friday.  DF bought me this Ayaka figure from Tenchi Muyo that I've been eyeing for a while!  <3  So we had a lot of fun, tho the car ride was long- a total of 6 hours in the car.  Lol and we only spent about 2 hours in Seattle.  It was worth it tho.  OH!! And I almost forgot!  We also stopped by Yummy House Bakery to pick up some Cream Cheese Rolls, which are just about the BEST food on the planet.  I really want these at the wedding (<- long shot!!).

Ok enough blabbing!  There's knitting to be done!!!

TTYL!

"...I'll dig a tunnel from my window to yours..."

I finished my crocheted purse!!  Here it is:

Here's how I wove in the ribbon yarn:

Here's a look of the inside (I reinforced the bottom seam with ribbon yarn):

Neat huh?  I'm happy with it.  DF likes it so much he thinks I should use it as my everyday purse.  I thought that was a nice compliment.  *^^*

I also finished Sandy's Surprise Present, and I'm going to ship it to her when I get to work.  Pictures will be posted in a few days after she's recieved it.

Yesterday was so productive, in addition to getting the things above done, I stopped by Dawson Richards, (the tux shop next to my work), and I asked about tuxes for the wedding and they said that they would give us a great deal- $60 per tux.  Yeah.  "Bad ass is what it is!!"  Oh!  And on Saturday, I got my veils (I got two, in a champaign color) and shoes (my sisters and I are all going to wear these slippers), and this is what we've picked out for the bridesmaids dresses in Pink Purl and Peridot.  The color scheme is going to be gold, light green, and light pink.  I chose the slippers because I wanted to be comfortable and I don't like wearing high heels (I can't walk in them well, and even tho I am short, I'm not going to sacrifice being comfortable for height).  They are about the most soft thing I've ever put on my feet- it's like walking on satin pillows.  *so lovely*

Did I ever tell you about the yarn ball decorations I want to do?  *checks blogs......* Nope!  For the wedding, we're going to decorate the ceiling with different sized balls made from yarn.  You take a blown up balloon, wrap yarn around it a couple times then douse with hairspray (or you could dip the yarn it a glue mixture before you wrap it), once it's dry pop the balloon and take it out, and there you have a yarn ball.  Here's what they look like:

These are about 4 inches big.  Pretty neat huh?  My sister found these at a thrift store and bought them for me.  That's how we came up with the idea.  Don't you think these would make great wedding decor?!

Well gtg!  Time to go pick up DF!  <3

more *sniffles*

I can be such a hypocondriac sometimes.  So my "sinus infection" was no more than a cold, which I regretably gave to my now sickly DF. *cries*  I got up at about 9:45 ths morning, played FFXI for about an hour, when DF woke up and joined me after we took some medicine.  Within 15 mins we crawled back into bed and didn't get up until after 2:00.  We played more FFXI, ate some food, watched Indiana Jones - Raiders of the Lost Arc, and now we're taking a quick break before we put in IJ - The Last Cusaide and go to sleep.  What a lazy day... even the cat was almost lethargic today; she must have knows we weren't up for playing today.

I did get another knitting circle square done.  I hope I never have to do the "Pebble Stitch" again.  Seriously, that stitch is a pain in the butt- I restarted it 5 times because I kept loosing track... I guess this also teaches me to not read while doing intricate sts.

I'm getting really tired, so I'm going to go fall asleep with IJ and I'll probably post more tomorrow.

*sniffles*

*cries* I think I'm getting a sinus infection.  My sinuses have dried out and now my nose is running... *sniff*  Gah...   I've been taking medicine so I'm hoping to head this off before it completly wipes me out.  I can't function when I have a full-blown sinus infection.

In happier news, I found some inspiration that I needed to keep my creative knitting ideas flowing.  Today, after work, I'm going to go to JoAnn's and pick up the remaining items I need for my friend Sandy's birthday present.  It should only take me an hour-ish to finish after I get it all together.

I think I'm going to frog my socks.  It's not that I don't like them or anything, I just haven't worked on them since... since maybe Thanksgiving.  And all I have to do on my purse it just add ribbon yarn to the handle.  I'm having a hard time firguring it out tho.  I could sew it on by hand or by machine, but I'm afraid it will pucker the front of it.  There's fabric-tack glue but I don't think that will be stronge enough.  Maybe I could weave the ribbon yarn thru the inside stitches of the purse to hide it from the outside.  I just have no idea.

We got FFXI Treasures of Uht Urghan yesterday!!  I haven't finished the quest to get there so we haven't seen any of the new content yet.  That's our goal for today tho.

I'm gonna go get some food.  And maybe some tea.  Yumm... tea!

A bunny, white dress, and Bob Ross

So I totally wrote a long ass novel of a post yesterday and guess what?  It dissapeared!  >.>  Blah oh well- what can you do?

So let me recap:

Easter was great.  We spent most of it on FFXI, and then went to me parents house and wolfed down deviled eggs, and then went to DF's parents house and wolfed down a half a ham between the two of us, then we went back to our place and played more FFXI.

So last Wednesday, we went up to Yakima to check out the Arboretum and it's going to be perfect for the wedding.  Cost for the building will be about $800 (including a $300 refundable deposit).  I'm starting to get stressed about the wedding because the wedding is only seven months away, and all I have is my wedding dress, an appointment at David's Bridal for Bride's Maids dresses, and DF's brother in law offering to cater.  I'm SO FAR behind!  ><'  Not to mention I've gained some weight... I hate holidays for bringing out my lack of selfcontrol when it comes to eggs and ham.  *cries*  Back to going on morning walks.

So yeah, the new FFXI expansion Aht Urghan comes out today!!  But because there is so much content, it won't be playable until Thursday.  The DF and I are going to go pick it up today when I'm off work.  So much fun!

Time to go on my walk!!

Oh yeah!  So I found out something awesome about the new Nintendo Revolution.  They will apparently be a title on it called "The Joy of Painting" by Bob Ross!  From what I understand, it's going to be a painting program of some sort.  How freakin' cool is that?  Oh and did you know the Revolution right now is priced at $199.99.  What was the price of the 360?  $400!!!  Hmm.... Nintendo is going to be the leader of the next round of systems this time!!!  GO TEAM NINTENDO!!!!

My new bag

Here it is!!

and here's the inside!!

Isn't it just the coolest bag!?!  My amazing DF bought it from Anatomy of a Skirt for my birthday.  I'm so happy I got my bag, but I don't think we'll order from them again- (it took 3 weeks longer to get my bag than they said it should).  I'm so excited about the bag, I've been toting it around since I got it, like using it as my purse too.  ^-^  Hehe!

DF and I are going to Yakima today to check out the Yakima Arboretum to see it it's a good place for the wedding.  This is our first choice right now.  My mom checked it out a couple weeks ago and she said it would be perfect.  It's close (only an hour away), it has a kitchen (DF's bro in law said he'd cook for us), and it's cheap.  It seems perfect from the pictures online so if we like it today, we're going to book it.  ^_^  Happiness all around!  Time to get ready to go!
